In the State of Tennessee apostilles are issued by the office of Tre Hatgett, Tennessee Secretary of State.
Documents submitted for apostille need to comply with the following guidelines:
- Documents must be issued or certified by the State Registrar (Department of Health) County Clerks.
- Notarized documents must be stamped, signed and dated by the notary, accompanied by a notarial act (otherwise known as jurat) and certified by the County Clerk where the notary is registered.
- Certified copies of vital records must be issued by the office of vital records that have a raised seal and bear the signature by Teresa S Hendricks State Registrar.
- In order to obtain apostille for school records issued by universities or schools in Tennessee you need notarized copies from the school registrar.

Price is $2 per apostille with payment made to the “Tennessee Secretary of State”.
