Apostilles and Authentications are issued in the State of Colorado by the office of the Colorado Secretary of State, Scott Gessler, in Denver, for original documents including birth, death and marriage certificates and academic diplomas and transcripts.
Documents must comply with the following guidelines:
- In order to apostille a notarized document you need to submit document with original signature and a correct notary acknowledgement, with date, stamp and signature of the notary public.
- In order to apostille an academic diploma or transcript you need to request a notarized replacement diploma/transcript from the Registrar’s office at your university which involves a fee of approximately $35.
- Certified copies of marriage license and divorce decree can be requested from the County Clerk that issued the original documents.

Price and processing time:
Price is $5 per apostille for regular services and $15 per apostille for expedited service.
Processing time is same-day counter service and 2 business days for mailed orders.
